2015-06-22: Montreal is Pretty

Ewa and I are bad tourists. We rarely manage to get enthusiastic about churches but according to all the travel websites churches are the number one attraction in most cities.

Peter did go to one however and we decided to use his planning to improve our standing as tourists.

It was a pretty church I will grant you.

Could have used a bit more Hieronymus Bosch in my opinion, maybe terrifying people into being good has gone out of fashion.
I read it as Soiree at first. A Jesus Party would have been good.

Ewa wanted a tourist photo to prove we are not completely sucking

Tourist Checklist: Statues

Montreal has a statue to  Charles le Moyne de Longueuil et de Châteauguay. He was a French guy that did some interesting things. He had twelve sons who also did many interesting things.
Many of those interesting things appear to have involved the local Indians. Some of those things appear to have been less than wholeheartedly enjoyed by the local Indians.
The statue was erected a little while later and features notable people from both the Froggy and  English communities in Montreal.
And the local Iriquois feature as well. I got the feeling the Iriquois guy was still nervous around Charles le Moyne de Longueuil et de Châteauguay

Rating: 7/10 (Mostly because it was convenient)
